It is very important to not let your puppy out of the crate while it is whining or being bad. This will just tell your puppy that all they have to do is whine and they will get let out.
Have some patience and follow the steps above and your puppy should learn to love the crate in no time at all.
Yea, leash training puppies can be really hard and believe it all not, you need all the help you can get to leash training your puppy and I know because I have been there too but all the same, thanks for your article, it was really worth my time reading it.
Crate training is not a system that I have ever used but a lot of people do swear by it. I just can’t imagine doing it for the first time though and not feeling bad.

I think crate training needs to be done early, some dogs are harder to train then others, it is best to do it when they are still a puppy.
Crate training is the way to go. It’s safer for a young puppy than letting him have run of the house. Young pups like to chew on things and get swallow things that can be extremely harmful to them. Using a crate makes it easy to manage until he can be left out without getting into things.
Dog crates are a useful tool used properly. I just recued a crate abused dog. He is slowly coming around.
